FAQs
Why doesn’t Zenith Properties L.L.C. repair the existing building?
Zenith Properties L.L.C. purchased the property from the Masons who, after extensive investigation, had concluded that it is not financially feasible to repair the building. The Masons applied for the demolition permit and transferred the demolition permit application to Zenith Properties L.L.C. See Mason’s letter of support for demolition.
What is going to go in place of the building if it is torn down?
There are no development plans for the Property. Zenith Properties L.L.C. is proposing to demolish the building because of the structural and public safety risks of the current structure. If, at some point in the future, development is proposed, any proposal would require City review and approval, including evaluation of potential environmental impacts of new development under SEPA.
Did the Masons really propose to tear down their own building?
Yes, see Mason Letter of Support.
What does the building look like inside and can I make an appointment to see the inside of the building?
No, the building is currently unsafe for occupancy or use and is not open to the public.
What were some of the previously proposed developments?
See Development History.
